As the cool fall air starts to change the beautiful scenery in Iowa, we have started reminiscing about our our second summer road trip shoot. We were inspired from The Ultimate Iowa Waterfalls Road Trip link that we found online. Go check it out... it is soooo worth the trip. www.onlyinyourstate.com/iowa/ia-waterfalls-road-trip/
We started our trip after getting out of hair and make-up at 4am and traveled North to Mason City Iowa for the Willow Creek Waterfall. Once we got there the water was to high to get out near the falls so we made the most of our time and found gorgeous little streams to shoot in.
Once we were done at Willow Creek Waterfall we made our way East to Decorah for Dunning Hills Springs. This place will have you picking your jaw up off the ground. IT IS STUNNING!!! Every step you take closer to the falls you can feel the air drop in temperature. Guests have made small stone statues throughout the entire falls area. As you explore the falls you find more and more cool spots. There is a large cave at the top of the falls and many quaint areas in the woods to shoot at as well.
As we said goodbye to Dunning Hills Springs and spent a good hour being lost in the middle of nowhere trying to find our next 2 waterfalls we decided to scratch them and head 3 hours South East to the Maquoketa Caves. If you have never been here before, well you are missing out!!
